Creating Comics on the Ipad Pro with Procreate

Get my Custom Procreate Brushes that were used in this video here -
http://www.gumroad.com/ramstudioscomics

This device is fully capable of creating fully finished comic art when using the program Procreate.  Not only does the software fun amazing fast, it is loaded with great features including perspective rulers, automatic video recording in 4K, one of the best brush engines I have seen ( and I have seen them all...mostly. ) and no lag even while working with large file sizes.  I don't claim that this will replace the desktop but it is getting really close and it surpasses it when it comes to mobility. Obviously. lol

Good luck with your art and more on the way real soon! ;)

Drawing Eyes - Various Expressions by Robert A. Marzullo

Hello Everyone! I hope all is well.  I just wanted to share some of my scribbles with you today! This is the way that I practice each area in my artwork.  I think by doing these studies, you can attack bigger more advanced drawings with a bit more confidence.

I pick a topic and draw a bunch of them to gain perspective on that particular thing.  This time it was eyes, next it might be buildings or animals or whatever.  It's funny how you go to draw something and you quickly realize it may not be the best aspect of your art.  You then have the option to crumple up the paper and go to your safe zone.  You know, the things you can draw without thinking too hard.  I don't like to give into that too much.  It's better to attack those weak areas head on.

So do lots of studies like these in your free time and you'll be glad that you did.  I always struggle with the bend of the legs and how the anatomy works in that specific area from various angles.  So guess what I will be focusing on next week!  I could just draw characters standing straight up all the time but then nobody wants to see a bunch of stiff super heroes, do they?

You can also see a speed drawing of these eyes here -

And remember if you want to up your game at drawing dynamic figures to check out
my course "How to Improve Your Figure Drawing - Step by Step" -

Click here to Visit this Course - https://gum.co/dPDEp

This course has had a very positive response and I am now working on a Part 2 where we will focus more on character interactions such as fight scenes, characters in motion, basic interactions, body expressions, posture, and much more!

So thanks very much for stopping by and follow me on Youtube for free video lessons each week!

Daredevil Pinup Drawn in Sketchbook Pro 8

Another comic book fan art piece.  I just finished watching season two of Daredevil and it immediately got me inspired to do this. I was really happy with the portrayal of the Punisher and Elektra as well.  They really hit the nail on the head with that season.

This took me around 8 hours which is way too long on a pinup like this but sometimes it just happens.  This was created in Sketchbook Pro 8 with a Wacom Cintiq.  My next art piece is a werwolf so be on the lookout for that. And then I think my next Marvel character will be Thanos or Thor.  Still trying to decide.  Keep in mind when my schedule is open I take commissions.  Just saying!

More on the way real soon and I hope you like the work!

Lets Make a Superhero - Step by Step - Part 3 - Manga Studio 5

So here is Part 3 of "Let's Make a Superhero!"  This was one of my first series and it wasn't as easy as I thought so I have lots of things to improve but it was fun to do.  This was basically a work along with the subscribers to the channel.  They gave comments and ideas and I had to composite them together into this singular perspective that has now been named......wait for it........THRUSTER! lol.

Maybe not the most impressive of names and probably already been used once or twice but this was for the experimentation and learning process.  It is always exciting to get feedback from viewers and see what can be done with it.  It also allowed me to see some real flaws in my own work and process.  My proportions are off and my character design is stiff.  But now that I have spotted the problem it is time to fix it.  So lots of long hours ahead of me and time to study some of the greats and why they are great!

I just want to say thanks for everyone that participated in this project.  It took me a bit longer to produce than I hoped.  Life always seems to get in the way.  The next one will be quicker and more polished.  I already have requests to do a Super Villain so maybe we will cover that topic next!

Can't wait to see how that one goes! :)

Thanks for stopping by and keep up the good fight!

My Patreon Page - Introduction Video - Robert Marzullo

I created a video for the intro on my Patreon page.  I am hoping this helps the page get some added
views and some backers.  We shall see.  My goal is that if this does well then I can get these books out faster and have more overall art to share with everyone.  Including more content on the Youtube channel explaining the things I learn on this comic book art journey.  That is the game plan anyways.  Please feel free to let me know if you have any ideas of what you would like to see on my Patreon page.  It can be in the way of the post I should make or simply what rewards would be beneficial for your support. I am still pretty new to this whole process so your thoughts mean a lot to me.  I am also going to make a discount code for my Patrons to my course content on Gumroad when it becomes available.  That is currently a full tutorial set on digital painting in Manga Studio 5 which I am absolutely loving right now.  The smooth watercolor brush is AWESOME!!! ;)

So that is it for now.  And here is a link to the video.  More on the way very soon!
